Analysis of existing magazines.

This is the front cover of Kerrang. The title of the magazine is in black and place at the top of the page behind the picture of a band. You can tell that it is Kerrang by the font, They spell Kerrang with the same font every time, as it is their logo. The colours on the front page are very limited, keeping to the Reds, white and black. They have used serif fonts for all the writing, keeping it plain and simple, Nothing fancy. There is one main picture of the band Bring me the horizon. Showing you that they one of the main features in this issue. There are 3 other pictures at the bottom of the page, smaller and all similar in size. These are showing you what else is also being mentioned in the magazine. 'Poster special!' Meaning the 3 pictures are of the posters they are offering but a smaller scale. Having the barcode in the bottom corner away from the rest of the magazine, vital part of the cover.

This is the front cover of NME. The title is places in the left corner, all in capitals and red bold colouring. So it stands out. For the title "The Greatest Indie Anthems" they have made the colours very limited, Black, Grey and white. Sill all in capitals and big, covering most of the page. Using Serif fonts for all the writing on the page. 'INDIE' is slightly bigger to stand out from the rest, Showing that this issue is featuring a particular genre of music. The background of the cover is very much like a scrapbook effect to it. Having lots of random pictures put together making it a colourful eye-catching background. The titles of the topics in the magazine are small and still kept the colours simple. The barcode like Kerrang is in the bottom corner on the right.
