For the analysis of the contents page I am using a page from the 'Kerrang' magazine. There is alot of information on this page, it is very busy. There are a total of 10 images on the page. The one in the top right corner is of the editor, welcoming the reader to the magazine and signing it off under the welcome note. This will give the reader a good attitude to the magazine and want to buy it. Next to that is a short sentence from a reader of the magazine, making you and every reader feel part of what is put into the magazine and that you could have your say. The rest of the images grab the readers attention and draws them into the magazine. If their favourite artist is featured there then they are more likely to buy the issue. The images are of music artists featured throughout the magazine, with the page number next to them so the reader knows what page to turn to for what column they want to read. The colours have been kept very similar throughout the page, keeping the Yellow and black writing on the white background. The writing in the right column is the listing of what is in the magazine, showing all the topics, story's and page numbers of each column. It is small, using a serif font. The title of the page 'Contents' is yellow with black background using the font 'Kerrang' is known for, and its trademark font, linking it to the magazine. Having 'PLUS!' written in a star attracts the readers eye making the reader drawn to what it says. Having '33 READING AND LEEDS MASSIVE 8 PAGE REVIEW!' would be interesting to alot of the target audience as the popular Reading festival is a big music event that happens every year. If you happen to go to the festival this would appeal to you. This issue must have been released shortly after the event happened. I want to try and make sure my contents page is full of images, information and as eye-catching as this one.
